The Fairy Goose Mother and I were deep in revision mode, hard at work on the next Claw & Order: Fairy Goose Unit book, when...
BANG! CRASH! FLUTTER!
Two familiar feathered friends burst into my office, tripping over a stack of sticky notes, tipping my tea, and sending my afternoon thinking cookies flying across the desk.
âJack B. Quack! Hickety Pickety McChicketyâwhat on earth?â the Fairy Goose Mother gasped.
âDid something happen in Fairy Goose Land?â I added.
âDid something happen?â Jack said. âGreat gooseberries, did it ever! Sound the sirens and dust off the magnifying glassâStolen, Golden Goose Eggs is officially a 3rd-5th grade 2025 CBC Teacher Favorites Winner!â

âWhat? An award winner?â I blinked. âWhat do you mean?â
This time, Hickety stepped forward. âThat means teachers read our story. LOVED our story. And now weâve got the award to prove it! All those clues we followed, all the crumbs we chasedââ she plucked a cookie from the desk and took a bite. "It paid off!â
âWaitâseriously? This is MAJOR news! Great work, Fairy Goose Unit. Teachers from all over the country officially love your investigative work. And when teachers talk, smart cookies listen."
The Fairy Goose Mother beamed. âThis award is special because it comes directly from teachers who know what young readers love. Our detectives have done it againâand I couldnât be prouder.â
