The Case of the Missing Treats: Printable Trick-or-Treat Cards for Parents & Teachers

Printable Halloween trick-or-treat cards by children's author Donna Boock, featuring Ella Bella Bovine, Kinzie, and Claw & Order: Fairy Goose Unit detectives Clawed and Allie, each with an eBook code.

Every Halloween, the same case reopens. Treat bowls run dry halfway through the night, classroom parties need enough for twenty or more kids without triggering an allergy alert, and somebody always ends up making a last-minute store run, often in a witch hat or zombie makeup.

This year, I called in the experts. Detectives Clawed McDiddle and Allie O'Dumpling are on the case to make Halloween less sticky and more S-Booky! They've sleuthed out something better than candy: a treat that can't run out, melt, or go give anyone a tummyache.

The Problem with Candy

Candy is a sweet treat, but it comes with some real drawbacks:

  • Allergies mean you're often stuck choosing between excluding kids or buying multiple "safe" options.

  • Sugar can lead to cavities.

  • Candy melts, gets crushed, or goes stale if you buy too early. It's also been known to randomly disappear, and no one knows where it goes. Don't look at me!

  • Sugar counts and dietary restrictions can turn a classroom party into a logistics problem.

The Fix: Printable Trick-or-Treat Cards

"Sorry to interrupt. Clawed McDiddle here."

"I'm one of Fairy Goose Land's Missing Creatures detectives. This season, I cover missing treats too. In fact, I just cracked the Case of the Missing Treats. That's right. When your treats go missing, have no fear. The purr-fect detective is finally here! Want to know how I did it? The full story is in this month's newsletter. Subscribe, and I'll share every clue."

Allie narrowed her eyes at me.

"Hold on, Clawed. YOU solved the case?" Allie interrupted.

I blushed right to my whiskers. She was right. Allie is always right.

"Ahem. What I meant to say is, WE solved it. The Fairy Goose Unit works best as a team."

Allie smiled at me. "You bet your beanstalk we do! And we followed a trail of clues leading to a better-than-candy treat for classroom parties and trick-or-treaters this Halloween!"

"Great gooseberries! Did we ever!" I said. "All the evidence points to something you can print at home, cut out, and pass along to all the kids. And then every kid can download their own free ebook!"

Allie grabbed her magnifying glass. "Case closed, partner. Now let's hand the case file back to Donna so she can give everyone the details."

Thanks, detectives! I'm so excited to share my new Printable Halloween Trick-or-Treat Cards. I made them in three varieties:

  • The Pignapping, book one in the Claw & Order: Fairy Goose Unit series, featuring Clawed and Allie in their very first Fairy Goose case (recommended for ages 6–9)

  • Moo-La-La-Ti-Da!, featuring Ella Bella Bovine, everyone's favorite fancy cow (recommended for ages 3–9)

  • Kinzie's Got Talent, book one in the Kinzie's Kinventions series, starring ViewTube's most famous Kinventor (recommended for ages 6–9)

Each card has a QR code that links to a free ebook download, an actual treat that lasts far longer than a mini candy bar and works for every kid. No special app is needed. Each classroom pack includes 28 cards in 6 Halloween designs, enough for a full class, licensed for printing, and it's priced at $24.99.

The Benefits of Books Instead of Candy

  • No kid is allergic to reading!

  • Reading has never caused an emergency dental visit!

  • Kids rarely eat their books, so they last a lot longer than candy!

  • Books rarely cause classroom logistics problems!

Who This Is For

  • Teachers handing out treats to a full classroom without an allergy-list headache

  • Parents who want to hand out something that isn't gone in one bite or one visit

  • Anyone tired of the annual candy-budgeting math

Subscriber Exclusives

At $24.99, these cards are already a better deal than a bag of candy. But my newsletter subscribers get an even BIGGER deal: half off! Why? Because my subscribers are the BEST. Already a subscriber? Your code is in my October newsletter. Not a subscriber yet? There's still time to join and get the same deal.

My monthly newsletter is full of exclusive discounts, humorous anecdotes, and unauthorized silliness. Sign up by October 16, 2026, and I'll email you a code for 50% off your Trick-or-Treat Cards. Please allow up to 48 hours for your code to arrive. I'm handling every signup myself, since Clawed, Allie, and the rest of the gang are busy trying to talk me into writing more of their stories (or getting into some other kind of shenanigans).

But hurry! After October 23, that discount is officially CASE CLOSED!

Happy (S-BOOKY) Halloween!

P.S. Clawed and Allie say this case is closed, but I just caught Kinzie sneaking toward my keyboard with a screwdriver and a very suspicious grin. Next month is hers. Absotutely nothing could go wrong... right?
