Get ready to shake, tap, rumble, and sing—this week is all about sound!

In Week 3 of our Storm Trucks REACH guide, we’re tuning in to the rhythms of a storm and turning noisy weather into a musical adventure.
Charlotte Glaze, author of Storm Trucks, recommends these fun, hands-on activities to help little ones feel calm and creative during a storm. Whether you’re shaking, tapping, or singing along—these crafts bring comfort, connection, and just the right amount of noise.
Ready to make it rain (in the fun way)?
Let’s play!

You’ll Need:
Plastic Easter eggs
Tape (washi, duct, or masking tape)
Fillers: rice, popcorn kernels, dried beans, etc.
How To:
Check for holes in the eggs. If there are any, tape over them on the inside to keep filler from leaking.

Shake and play!
Try different fillers to create different sounds.
