Friends, I’ve been busy lately—not just writing funny books for kids (though I am), but also trying to teach Amazon that “Donna Boock” is not a mistake.
That’s right. Apparently, the world’s biggest bookseller still thinks my name looks suspiciously like a misspelling of “book.” But Donna Boock is a real person (hi!), and she writes laugh-out-loud mysteries, clever chapter books, and delightful picture books for kids (if I do say so myself).
If you’ve noticed my weekly REACH posts have been on pause, that’s why. I've been working with a small but mighty team of five who put in a lot of invisible work to make my books more visible—to help them reach the readers who matter most: kids. They’re the reason I do what I do, and every ounce of effort has been about getting great stories into their hands.
But don’t worry—REACH posts will resume next week, full of fun, creative ideas to keep families reading and connecting together.
In the meantime, I could really use your help with this whole “Amazon thinks I’m imaginary” situation. Here’s the deal: Amazon’s algorithm starts to recognize an author when people search their name. So the more people who search “Donna Boock” on Amazon, the faster the algorithm learns that my name is a real search term—not a typo in need of spellcheck.

Print them on plain paper or cardstock.
Cut them out and hand them out with (or without) candy.
Each child (with a little help from a grown-up) can scan the QR code and go straight to my search link with a list of my books.
